Say ‘No!’ to Conwy Council’s new proposed dog orders.

Can only express my thoughts on how petty minded can a council be. You only have to walk along the path between Pensarn and Llanddulas where cyclists break the speed limit, no bell warning, if you are knocked down they have no insurance etc. The Council do not seem to think of how much pleasure dog owners get from walking their dogs and the excercise they would probably not get without a pet. Yes the dog could be kept on a lead but a walk is no exercise for a dog they need to run.

    • Know what you mean, Ray. There is a so called “cycle path” from Deganwy to West Shore on land that has been usurped by the council. Far more dog walkers use this path than cyclists and yet the council spend a small fortune maintaining it from windswept sand. The new DCOs force dogs to be on a lead and therefore prevent them running freely on the high grassed bank that runs parallel with this path – something our dogs have enjoyed over the past 4 years.
